The funding of the foundation consists of donations from F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd, with an initial sum of 25 million Swiss Francs over the first five years and renewal donations of 15, 10 and 17.5 million Swiss Francs for the following eight and a half years (a total of 67.5 million Swiss Francs over 13.5 years).
